The 5th Border Collie Nationals - Sydney October 2019

Updated: Jan 24, 2020

The Border Collie Club of NSW Inc hosted the 5th Border Collie National Championships in Sydney, Australia from the 10th to the 13th October 2019. This prestigious event returned to Sydney to celebrate all things Border Collie, including Conformation, Herding, Agility, Jumping & Games, Obedience, Rally O and Dances with Dogs and of course we HAD to go. Where else would a border collie lover be !

I was very proud of our two young dogs who travelled over 2800kms in one of my longest round trips across the nation.

A great time was had sharing the trip with fellow breeders with lots of great food, banter and company along the way. The South Australian team did very well competing, with many of us bringing home great placings and awards.

Our Tookurra Dancin N The Moonlite (Ben) was fortunate to be awarded 5th Border Collie Puppy Dog in Australia as well as being shortlisted in the top 6 dogs (at the age of only ten months) for Best Gaited Dog of Australia. I am super proud of him and how hard he tried for me.

Our home bred Beecee Fire Fly was also shortlisted in the top six Puppy Bitches of Australia and we couldnt be more proud of our first home bred and shown pup doing so well at a national level.

I am really glad we made the effort to attend this years event, the committee did a fantastic job in promoting, supporting and celebrating everything border collie. There wont be another National for three years and I am sure we will all be eagerly waiting for its announcement.
